In a way, science fiction films also, to some extent, foreshadow the future direction of technological development. Many predictions in science fiction films have become reality through people's efforts.

What does your imagined future life look like? Perhaps it's staying at home and being able to complete your studies and work without leaving the house, with robots taking care of everything big and small, and humans only needing to remotely control them. Our lives have not yet achieved this beautiful imagination, but in an ancient industry—the mining industry—it has already turned the imagination of science fiction films into reality.

Employees sit in comfortable offices, with no one above their workstations. Vehicles move orderly back and forth, with automatic positioning, loading, unloading, and transportation seamlessly integrated. This is not a scene from a science fiction film, but the daily routine at the Xigou minefield in Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province, at an altitude of 3400 meters. Hunan Chuangyuan, in collaboration with China Mobile and Huawei, has implemented the Xigou mine "5G+ Smart Mine" project, introducing the latest 5G technology into the ancient mining industry. Through human-machine separation, it has achieved truly unmanned operation at the production site. For its outstanding practices in the field of 5G+ smart mine construction, Hunan Chuangyuan was awarded the 5G Edge DC Best Practice Award.

Based on the actual situation of the Xigou minefield, combined with the 5G technology of Huawei and China Mobile, and utilizing the drilling rig 5G remote intelligent remote control system developed by Hunan Chuangyuan, traditional mining equipment such as roller cone drilling rigs have been upgraded and automated. This has enabled remote control and intelligent operation of electric shovels, remote operation of mining trucks, automatic driving, reverse parking, automatic unloading, and remote control of roller cone drilling rigs for walking and drilling operations, ultimately achieving truly unmanned operation at the production site.

Mining is one of the oldest labor-producing fields undertaken by humankind. The development of the mining industry and the development and utilization of mineral resources have had a huge and irreplaceable promoting effect on the development and progress of human civilization. However, at the same time, the mining industry is also one of the most harsh and dangerous production fields for human work environments. Data shows that the mining industry employs about 1% of the global workforce, but accounts for 8% of global workplace fatalities.

The "5G+ Smart Mine" separates production personnel from equipment, eliminating personal safety hazards and fundamentally ensuring employee safety. The miners at Xigou mine no longer have to contend with the cold weather at high altitudes, endure the loud noise of mining equipment, or worry about inhaling large amounts of dust. Management personnel in the intelligent control center monitor and intelligently dispatch the mine area in real time, reducing production costs and improving production efficiency, achieving high-quality development.
