On June 10, the China Nonferrous Metals Society held an online technology appraisal meeting for the "Research and Development of High-Performance Intelligent Drilling Rig for Underground Caverns and Cuttings," a project completed by Hunan Chuangyuan High-tech Machinery Co., Ltd., Hunan Chuangyuan Mining Machinery Co., Ltd., Central South University, Zijin Mining Xinjiang Habahe Ashele Copper Industry Co., Ltd., and other units.
Academician Gui Weihua, director of the Technical Committee of the National Nonferrous Metals Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance; Jia Mingxing, president of the China Nonferrous Metals Society; Xia Xiaohua, former chairman of the Mining and Metallurgy Technology Group Co., Ltd.; Professor Liu Li of University of Science and Technology Beijing; and Gao Huanzhi, vice president and secretary-general of the China Nonferrous Metals Society, and other experts attended the appraisal meeting. Based on the relevant provisions of the "Interim Measures for the Pilot Program of Scientific and Technological Achievements Evaluation" of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the "Interim Measures for the Evaluation of Scientific and Technological Achievements in the Nonferrous Metals Industry of the China Nonferrous Metals Society," the expert panel conducted a project achievement evaluation according to the standards and procedures for scientific and technological achievement evaluation, adhering to the principles of science, independence, objectivity, and fairness.
At the meeting, the expert group listened to the project team's report, reviewed relevant technical documents, and conducted questioning, exchanges, and discussions on aspects such as the degree of technological innovation, the advanced level of technical and economic indicators, the technical difficulty and complexity, the reproducibility and maturity of the technology, the role of technological innovation in promoting industry technological progress and improving market competitiveness, and economic and social benefits. Experts unanimously agreed that the project's overall technology has reached the internationally leading level and recommended accelerating its promotion and application. 。

Hunan Chuangyuan The "Research and Development of High-Performance Intelligent Drilling Rig for Underground Caverns and Cuttings" project developed dynamic insert plates, proportional connecting and disconnecting rods, and automatic positioning technology, One-button completion of drill rod connecting and disconnecting operations , realizing the mechanization and automation of cavern drilling operations; using an integrated drilling rig walking system and a hydraulic support rapid positioning system, greatly reducing the time for transferring and erecting machines, achieving immediate use and significantly improving construction efficiency ; developing a high-pressure intelligent hydraulic system, a new drill rod thread structure, high-strength drill rod materials, and heat treatment processes, significantly improving drill bit strength, optimizing drilling rig operating parameters, achieving all-lithology rock breaking operations for cavern drilling rigs ; developing a dedicated drilling rig RCS3.0 intelligent control system , which can realize safety protection, autonomous operation, data storage, fault diagnosis, and remote monitoring functions, providing technical support for smart mines. The project uses advanced mechatronics and intelligent technologies, solving problems such as hard rock operations, high labor intensity for workers, difficulties in transfer and transportation, and low intelligence level, realizing all-lithology, large-diameter, high-mobility, intelligent and efficient operation of cavern equipment . It has been successfully applied in many leading mining enterprises in China and several countries including Serbia, Mexico, and Russia. The equipment operates stably, is reliable in performance, has achieved good economic and social benefits, and is well-received by customers.
