From internationally advanced to internationally leading - Jiugang Xigou Mine

Recently, Jiugang Xigou Mine “ 5G+ The construction of the second phase of the Smart Mine project held a groundbreaking ceremony. Hunan Chuangyuan, as one of the contractors, participated in the ceremony with Huawei and China Mobile. At the meeting, Jiugang Group leaders and the supervisory party authorized and clearly divided the work for this project, marking the official launch of the second phase of the Jiugang Xigou Mine “ 5G+ Smart Mine” construction project.

Jiugang Group Xigou Mine is located in the southwest of Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province 45 kilometers away, located at an altitude of 1900m ～ 3500m between, average 2800m high-altitude mountainous area. The mine is rich in resources and is an important raw material base for Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group. Its open-pit limestone quarry working face is located at an altitude of about 3400 meters in a high-altitude mountainous area, with a temperature difference between summer and winter of 70 degrees. The working environment is harsh, the labor intensity is high, and although mechanized production has been achieved before, it still cannot be separated from the on-site operation of equipment by workers. Therefore, it is imminent and imperative to realize the automation and unmanned operation of mine production as soon as possible.

Hunan Chuangyuan as early as 2020 at the beginning of the year, jointly carried out the construction and research and development of the Jiugang Xigou Mine “ 5G+ Smart Mine” Phase I pilot project with partners such as Huawei and China Mobile. This is the first domestic remote intelligent mining system covering the entire process of open-pit mining of vehicles, excavators, and drills, and it has been put into actual production.

Phase I project takes the remote intelligent system for open-pit drilling, excavation and transportation equipment as the starting point, mainly targeting the drilling, loading and transportation in the mining operation of Xigou Mine, three links involving the roller drill, mining truck, and electric shovel for pilot intelligent upgrading and transformation, in conjunction with Gansu Mobile, through 5G network, the equipment instructions after intelligent upgrading are transmitted to the operation control end, realizing the remote remote control intelligent operation of the electric shovel, remote operation of mine trucks, automatic driving, reversing into position, automatic unloading, etc., and remote control walking and drilling operations of roller drills, etc. The technical level is domestically leading and internationally advanced, and it is the first “ 5G+ Smart Mine” project in Gansu Province.

Among them, the drill 5G The remote intelligent remote control system built by Hunan Chuangyuan High-tech, after completing the automation transformation and upgrading, management personnel in the intelligent control center, through 5G technology remote operation, the roller drill can realize single-person remote control of three devices, greatly reducing the number of on-site personnel, realizing the separation of operators and equipment, removing personnel from harsh environments, transferring the work location from outdoors to indoors, and mining workers no longer have to fight against the cold weather in high-altitude areas and endure the huge noise of mining equipment, and no longer have to worry about inhaling a large amount of dust during work, fundamentally eliminating occupational health hazards, and improving production efficiency, achieving high-quality development.

Based on the significant results of the Jiugang Xigou Mine “ 5G+ Smart Mine” Phase I pilot project, after more than a year of actual production application and mine preliminary research and preparation, the second phase promotion project has been officially launched, and it is expected to be completed by 2022 at the end of the year. It will be applied to more equipment in Xigou Mine. The goal is based on 5G equipment and systems to fully realize the automation and unmanned operation of the mine production process, fundamentally eliminate production safety hazards, and ultimately build a truly unmanned smart mine, moving from domestic leading and internationally advanced to internationally leading.
