Igniting the Prairie: An Interview with Peng Yun, Automation Engineer at Hunan Chuangyuan Intelligent's Subsidiary

           For enterprises, those employees who are dedicated to their work and strive hard are also the backbone and mainstay of the enterprise. This issue features an interview with Peng Yun, an automation engineer at Chuangyuan Intelligent's subsidiary. —Peng Yun.

          Hardworking, simple, and reliable are the consistent impressions of Peng Yun among his colleagues. In 2020, the Jugang Xigou Mine Phase 2 roller bit drilling rig 5G remote intelligent transformation project was one of the key projects undertaken by the company. Due to the tight project schedule, Peng Yun, as an automation engineer, was sent to the front line—Jugang Xigou Mine. Located at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, Xigou Mine is a high-altitude, cold region. Even in May, it was still covered in snow and bitterly cold. Because there was no restaurant in the mine area, employees' meals were often transported from the foot of the mountain by food trucks. Due to the cold weather, most of the heat was lost by the time the food reached the mine. It was in such harsh conditions that Peng Yun stayed for more than half a year.

       During this period, he independently completed the design and debugging of the hardware and software from the equipment's bottom-level control to remote control, overcoming difficulties such as high-precision positioning of the drilling rig, fully automatic pole changing, and autonomous operation. He developed a remote intelligent remote control system for open-pit drilling rigs for the company, playing a key role in the completion and acceptance of the entire project. When visiting leaders and colleagues came to visit him, he always had a cheerful smile on his face and never complained of hardship or fatigue.

          There is always a reward for effort, At the end of October 2020, Peng Yun's project, which he had diligently worked on for more than half a year, was successfully completed and accepted. It became the first remote intelligent remote control system in China that integrates vehicles, excavators, and drilling rigs. It was showcased multiple times at the Gansu Lanzhou 5G+ New Infrastructure Conference and the 2020 Mining Frontier and Intelligent Information Technology Annual Conference, attracting widespread attention from the mining industry.

         After Peng Yun's deeds were spread to the company by those around him, his colleagues were deeply touched and encouraged. In the selection of outstanding employees in 2020, Peng Yun was selected for the "Star Fire Ignites the Prairie" award for outstanding employees, highlighting his personality influence of "using the spark of spirit to create Chuangyuan's prairie." With his words and deeds and personality, he enriched the spiritual lineage of Chuangyuan people and contributed valuable spiritual resources to Chuangyuan's development.
